Mama, can Jonah be my prince charming?

Who wouldn't want this little stud for a prince charming all dressed up in his tuxedo?


As much as she adores her little brother now, I have a feeling these will be words to tuck away for some time down the road when she might need a little reminder of how much she loves her brother.

But he sure does look cute in that little tuxedo I scored a few months back for just $15, doesn't he??!

We've been going to a lot of weddings lately and especially since Sienna got to be a flower girl for my brother and new sister-in-law's wedding a few months ago she has been convinced that every bride and groom are princesses and prince charmings.

And to take it a step further, she is desperate to have one of her own!

It's all she talks about.

This is her literally asking in the middle of the wedding....

"Mama, one day when I grow up I'm gonna get a prince charming like Daddy, he's gonna give me a ring right here (points to finger) and then I can get a baby in my tummy too!! I can't wait!!! I can't wait!!"

Not.Even.Joking.

She really asks for this several times a week. Don't even get me started on the baby in the tummy deal she's always daydreaming about...


It might be my fault for telling her that Daddy is my prince charming, and you know, she really loves that guy. I don't blame her for wanting one of her own, but the girl is not even 3 yet!

Hold the stage coach and horses please!

But, alas, when we told her Jonah wouldn't be her prince charming forever she settled on the ring bearer, but I don't think it was quite what she hoped for...

Thank goodness!

But they did have fun dancing together after we convinced them it was ok to hold hands.

Now for the true confessions...

I was the same way when I was a little girl.

I guess some of us are destined to be mothers and something just tells us from the start!

Although, wouldn't you say by the look in my sister's face here that she might not have agreed...

Ring pillows

One of my good friends (who I've known since 5th grade!) is getting married this weekend and asked me to be a bridesmaid and wear this beautiful dress from J. Crew

Um... YES and YES!

As if I wasn't excited enough for the wedding she called me a few weeks ago and ask me to make ring pillows for her two bearers. What an honor! I was flattered and oooh so excited.

My guidelines:
Create his and her ring pillows
Colors must be brown, pink and ivory
Fabric must be satin
She also wanted a border on the pillows, but not trim or fringe.

GOT it! Ready, set, go!

I started seeking inspirations since we didn't have a ring bearer at our wedding, I honestly wasn't even sure what size they should be.... so I thought of the one lady who was bound to have some ideas for this type of thing, Martha Stewart! Yup, she sure did!

Some were outside of my guidelines for this round, but this one is definitely bookmarked for my sister's wedding (whenever that might be... no pressure...cough, wink, hehe).

So doggone cute!

After drooling over them for a few days and wishing I had thought to make more stuff for my own wedding... I decided on the pleats, which I thought would look best with my satin fabric.

Maybe it was the practice for all my patio cushions, but deciding what kind of pillow to make took 10 times longer than actually making these. I'd say 2 hours start to finish for both of them, and that was mostly marking, ironing and sewing so many pleats. There's a tutorial here for how to do the pleated pillow that I loosely followed.

His- in ivory with a brown border and bow

Together, they'll be music to the heart

Does anybody else wish they could get married all over again? To the same man of course! I just love planning for weddings... everything about it!
